Personeria Juridica

If you are attending a meeting or have some other reason that for your Corporation (S.A. aka Sociedad Anoima) you need a 'recent' Personeria Juridica, there are several options. Read to the bottom!

1. Your lawyer
2. Go to the Correo (post office) give them your Corporation number (they start with 3-101- or 3-102-) it will take about 5 minutes.
3. Print out your own.

The "print out your own" is what I'm going to show you how I did it.

If you are already signed up, you can skip the sign up step.

Means: Register for the first time. Click on the button (such as on that orange arrow), NOT on the stuff that the arrow is pointing at!

Almost all the fields are required (the *'s at the beginning)
Your surname/lastname/Nombre
Your first name/Primer Apellido
Your middle name/Segundo Apellido. Sorry I have no idea what to do if you don't have a middle name.
Your cell phone/Teléfono Movil (Yes you are REQUIRED to have a cell phone) I don't have a CR number, so I just typed in the first 8 numbers of my cell number. Obviously it isn't a valid number.
Your other number is optional/Otra Te'efono
Email
Then retype your email a second time
The password you want/Clave; they require one upper case, one lower case, one number and a minimum of 8 characters.

When I did it, I initially used a 'reasonable' length password. I cut it down to 19 and it still didn't work. So I cut it down to 8. Their definition of 'at least 8 characters' should like be 8-?? Characters. If I had to guess, I would guess that they set the limit to 10 or 16 characters, but I didn't care to test. Note that passwords shorter than 23 characters are now crackable by current (2023) technology in less than an hour, so I personally use passwords that are 50+ characters. Since I copy/paste them from a password vault, it isn't any harder to use a long password than a short one.

Then retype your password
Then select that yes you agree to the terms of use. Sorry, I'm not going to try to translate the terms of use for you.
Then click the Registration button (Registrarse)
You will then get an email asking you to click on "en el siguiente link" to activate it.
Clicking on that link will give you a welcome, you have been activated (su usuario ha sido activado de forma exitosa!)

If your Spanish is a little weak… This tells you to enter the registration, you need to provide your email address (Correo electrónico) they have on file and your password (Contraseña). Then click Enter (Ingresar).

If you have an account but forgot (Ha olvidado) your password (su contraseña) click on that bottom link.

Now that you are signed in...

Another problem, be aware that if you are not active, you session is closed after a very short time. I didn't time it, but it felt like about 2 or 3 minutes of inactivity which, because my Spanish is beginner level, meant I frequently got logged out while trying to figure out the next step. So read through the instructions first, so you can go along quickly.

Go to indice de Personas Jurídicas

This will fail, because it doesn't have the dashes in the name:

Now you need to click on Carrito de Compras

Of course you will then have to pay.

Once you pay, you get a copy that you can print out as many times as possible.

For the last one: Are you sure you want to purchase the following products: 1 unit(s) of Legal Personality? After paying, you should receive this Confirmation.

To access your Personeria Juridica, Click first on "Mi Inventario", then on the Order item.

Then I clicked on the link in the 2nd line to download my Personaria Jurídica, and I got the following (I redacted it for the web site, it did not come redacted.)
